Quote Backlinks counts missing or wrong: how to fix

Check the basics

• Confirm the add-on is installed and enabled.
• Check that the first historical rebuild has finished.

Permissions explain different counts

• Counts and lists follow each visitor's post-viewing permissions.
• Staff-only forum quotes show to authorized staff but not to others.
• Moderated and deleted content follow normal XenForo visibility.

Check what was quoted

• Username-only quotes and plain links do not create backlinks.
• Several quotes of one post in a single reply count once.

Run the rebuild again

• Needed after direct database imports or edits, or changes made while disabled.
• Use Tools → Rebuild caches → Rebuild quote backlinks.

Moves and deletions

• Thread moves and permission changes show on later views without a rebuild.
• Soft-deleted or moderated links are kept and can return after restoration.
