License Agreement

This license agreement sets out what you may do with a D.C Style add-on once you have it. It covers every add-on you download from dcstyle.info, together with our Terms of Service. By installing an add-on, you accept it.

1Words we use

Add-on

the software you download from us, with its code, templates, phrases, images and documentation, and every update to it.

Live forum

one XenForo installation that your members or the public use, at the domain on your license.

Test copy

a private copy of your live forum, used only for testing or development, which your members and the public can't reach.

Update period

the time after you buy or renew during which you get new versions and support. The product page shows how long it is.

2What your license lets you do

When you buy an add-on, we give you a license to use it that isn't exclusive and can't be passed on. It lets you:

• Install and use the add-on on one live forum.
• Install it on test copies of that forum. A test copy can run on a subdomain of your forum, on your own computer (localhost, or an address ending in .test, .local or .localhost), or on one staging domain you add to your license.
• Change its code, templates and styling to suit your forum.
• Keep backup copies.
• Have a developer or host you hire install or change it for you, as long as they use it only for your forum.

You buy a license to use the add-on, not the add-on itself. We keep the copyright and all other rights in it.

3Your forum's domain

You tell us which forum is your live forum on the license's Domain tab in My Licenses. The license covers that domain and all its subdomains. You can move the license to a new domain once every 30 days, and it stops covering the old one when you do. If you need to move again sooner, open a ticket. A second live forum needs its own license. If you run several forums, contact us and we'll arrange it.

4What you may not do

• Use one license on more than one live forum, or run a second public community on a test copy.
• Share, sell, rent, give away or publish the add-on, changed or not, or your license key.
• Remove or change the copyright notices in the code.
• Use the add-on's code, in whole or in part, in a product you sell or give away.
• Get around a license check, or help anyone else do so.

Hiring someone to work on your forum is fine. Giving them a copy to use on other forums isn't.

5Updates and your update period

During your update period, you can download every new version and get support. When the period ends:

• The add-on keeps working. Nothing is switched off.
• You can still download every version released during your period.
• Newer versions need a renewal, which is always optional.

We keep past versions available. We may withdraw a version with a serious fault or security problem, but if we do, we offer a fixed version to everyone who could download the old one. How updates and renewals work has the details.

6Free add-ons

Free add-ons cost nothing and need no account. Many come with an open-source license, such as the MIT License, which the product page shows. When one does, that license applies instead of this agreement, and it lets you share and change the add-on on its own terms.

A free add-on without an open-source license follows this agreement, without an update period: its updates stay free.

7Other people's software

• Our add-ons run on XenForo, which you license separately from XenForo Limited.
• Some add-ons need another add-on first. Rock Paper Scissors, for example, needs DragonByte Credits, which you get from its own developer under its own license.
• Some add-ons include open-source libraries. Google Drive Attachments, for example, includes Google's API client for PHP. Each library keeps its own license, which comes in the download.

8Our promise about the add-on

We promise that the add-on works substantially as its product page describes, on the XenForo versions that page lists. If it doesn't, tell us and we'll fix it, or refund you under our Refund Policy.

Apart from that promise and your rights under the law, the add-on is provided "as is". Please back up your forum before you install or update any add-on.

9Liability

Our liability under this agreement is limited as our Terms of Service set out. It is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if that is more. It doesn't cover indirect losses, such as lost profits or data. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't let us limit.

10Transfers

Your license belongs to your account, and you can't transfer it yourself. If you sell your forum or hand it to someone else, open a ticket. We can move the license to the new owner's account.

11When a license ends

Your license lasts until one of these happens:

• You get a refund for it. The license is revoked.
• You open a payment dispute or chargeback. We may suspend the license until it is settled, and revoke it if the payment is reversed.
• You seriously break this agreement, and don't put it right after we ask. We may then revoke the license.

A revoked license can't be downloaded or renewed. When a license ends, you must uninstall the add-on and delete your copies, including changed ones.

Deleting your account doesn't end your licenses. They keep working, but you can no longer download updates.

12Changes and questions

We may update this agreement. Changes apply to versions you download after the change, and the version you accepted still covers what you already have. Questions about your license? Email [email protected] or open a support ticket.
