Set up Rock Paper Scissors with DragonByte Credits
Rock Paper Scissors lets members bet credits against each other. Connect it to the right currency, set the limits and give members permission to play.

Before you start
Rock Paper Scissors lets members bet DragonByte Credits on games of rock, paper, scissors, either against each other in games of two to eight players or against the computer. To get it running you connect it to the right currency, set the betting limits and give members permission to play. It needs XenForo 2.3 and DragonByte Credits 5.6.0 or newer.
Install DragonByte Credits first
Rock Paper Scissors uses DragonByte Credits for every bet, so XenForo will not install it until DragonByte Credits is installed and active. Install that first, then Rock Paper Scissors. Add-ons that need another add-on first explains the error you see if the order is wrong.
When you upload the files, include everything in the upload folder, including styles/DC/RPS. That folder holds the rock, paper and scissors images. If the game shows broken images, that folder is missing, and the file health check will confirm it.
Connect it to the right currency
Go to Setup > Options > D.C Style - Rock Paper Scissors. The first option, the DBTech Credits column (the label reads "cloumn"), tells the game which balance to take bets from. The default, dbtech_credits_credits, is DragonByte Credits' standard currency.
If your members use a different currency, open DragonByte Credits > Currencies in the Admin CP, edit that currency, and copy the value from its Column field into this option. Then set Credits currency to the symbol you want shown next to amounts. It is $ by default.
Set the betting rules

The tax is added to the bet, not taken from it. With a 100 bet and 2% tax, joining costs 102. In a game between members, the winner takes the prize pool, and a draw means the players pick again. Against the computer, a win pays the bet minus the tax, a loss costs the bet plus the tax, and a draw changes nothing.
Let members play
Go to Groups & permissions > User group permissions, open the Registered group and find D.C Style - Rock Papers Scissors:
- Can play lets members create and join games. It also shows the game's tab in your navigation, so members without it do not see the tab at all.
- Can delete own game lets members cancel a game they started.
- Can delete any game is for moderators.
The game lives at /rps on your forum. If members cannot see the tab, check how their groups combine.
What members ask about
- Old games disappear. The Clean closed RPS games cron entry runs every hour and deletes finished games, so game history is not kept. It needs XenForo's scheduled tasks running: keep scheduled tasks running.
- A deleted game did not return everything. Deleting a game that has not finished refunds the bet but not the tax.
- "You don't have enough money to bet". The member's balance must cover the bet plus the tax.
- Games are missing from the DragonByte Credits transaction log. The game changes the balance directly, so bets do not appear as DragonByte Credits transactions.
- Too many alerts. Members get alerts when someone joins their game, for wins, losses, draws and cancelled games, and can turn each one off in their alert preferences.
